Let customers fix orders—without contacting support.

SelfServe adds a block to your Shopify Order Status page where customers can correct their own email, phone number and delivery address for a window you set, from one hour to twenty-four. Every address is checked against postal reference data before it is saved, so the parcel goes to somewhere that actually exists.

Fourteen-day trial on every plan. Billed through Shopify, so there is no card to hand over and nothing to cancel separately.

The SelfServe editing block on a Shopify Order Status page, showing two hours and forty-one minutes left in a three hour edit window, with the email address, phone number and delivery address available to change.
Why merchants install it

Three things change the week you switch it on

  • Fewer tickets to answer

"Can you change my address?" is one of the most common messages a store receives, and answering it means finding the order, editing it by hand and writing back. SelfServe removes the whole exchange by letting the customer do it themselves while the order is still editable.

  • Addresses that pass first time

A wrong postal code costs a failed delivery, a return-to-sender fee and a second outbound shipment. The validator checks the address against postal reference data before it saves, so the error is caught while it is still free to fix.

  • A better hour after checkout

The hour after somebody buys is when they notice the typo, and it is the hour they feel least in control. Giving them a working edit button rather than a support email is a materially different experience of your store.

Validation

Three outcomes, and the customer always knows which one they got

A validator that silently rewrites what somebody typed is worse than none at all. SelfServe confirms a clean match, offers a choice when the match is close, and blocks the save with a specific reason when it fails.

Matched to premise level

27 Kelvin Row, Flat 4, Glasgow G12 8QQ

Street, building and postal code all resolve in the Royal Mail file. Saved as typed, formatted for the carrier.

Close, but not exact

188 Rue de Rivoli, 75001 Paris

188 Rue de Rivoli, 75044 Paris CEDEX 01

The customer chooses between what they typed and the corrected version. Nothing is overwritten silently.

Blocked before saving

14 Briggate, Leeds M1 4WB

Postal code M1 4WB belongs to Manchester, not Leeds. The customer is told exactly which line to fix.

How it works

Install, set a window, and the loop closes itself

There is no customer portal to build, no account for anyone to create and no email sequence to write. SelfServe attaches to the order page Shopify already sends people to.

  1. Step 01 · Merchant

You install and set the rules

Install from the Shopify App Store, place the block on your Order Status page from the theme editor, pick an edit window and switch on the changes you allow.

    Window set to3 hours
  2. Step 02 · Customer

They open the order they already have

No new email, no account, no password. The confirmation Shopify already sends links to the Order Status page, and the SelfServe block is on it with a live countdown showing what is left of the window.

    Time remaining02:41:07
  3. Step 03 · Both

They edit, the validator checks, the order updates

The customer changes what they need. Any address is checked against postal reference data before it is accepted. The order in your admin updates within seconds, with a timeline note recording exactly what moved.

Self-service only works when it has edges

Handing customers a blank cheque over their own orders would create more problems than it solves. Every capability in SelfServe sits behind a setting, and the defaults are the cautious ones.

  • Set the window to match your warehouse

One hour if a label can print eleven minutes after checkout. Twenty-four if nothing is picked until the morning. The window closes early on fulfilment either way, so a generous setting is not the risk it looks like.

  • Allow only the changes you can absorb

Each change type has its own switch. Turn on contact details and address, leave product additions off, and the panel your customer sees contains exactly the controls that will work.

  • Protect the orders that should not move

Exclude by order tag so wholesale, subscriptions and manually created drafts are never editable, and require address changes to stay inside the country the customer paid to ship to.
